A panelized house ships as wall, floor, and roof assemblies and needs a site sequence. A volumetric module arrives with more interior work done and needs a transport envelope plus a crane plan. A cabin is a smaller shell whose finish, utilities, and foundation interface still have to be listed. Keep feet or meters, and count modules or building sets, so two quotations use the same quantity unit.
Thermal transmittance, fire-resistance rating, and the connection between the module and the foundation are project documents, not captions on a card. If two quotations use different bay spacing or different clear span assumptions, they are not the same building. Read the scope review before you send the requirement.
HUD Code manufactured housing, state modular programs, and site-built IRC houses follow different approval routes. A card titled for a prefabricated house does not choose that route for you. Write the jurisdiction into the brief so the factory states which documents it will actually issue.
